7 Grab-n-Go Paleo Snacks to Fuel Your Busy Life

healthy on the go paleo snacks

When you’re on the go, one surefire way to make eating a nutrient-dense diet easy is to be prepared with nutritious paleo snacks.

I’ve helped a number of my clients make the shift to packing healthy snacks and a result, they realize that eating in alignment with their health goals becomes so much easier! Though it’s simple, this one seemingly minor act really is a game-changer.

Not all snacks are created equal, especially for a busy lifestyle. As a health coach and wellness travel expert, I’ve tested out a variety of grab-n-go paleo snacks to find those with the perfect balance of flavor, nutrient-density, and convenience, and the result is the following list.

I’ve enjoyed each of these seven healthy snacks on busy, hectic workdays, on backpacking trips in the backcountry, and on cross country road trips. Not only do they pack well in a purse, backpack, or suitcase, but they’ll also boost your energy, curb your hunger cravings, and keep you feeling my best!

Here are the snacks we’ll be reviewing:

  • Wild Zora Meat & Veggie Bars
  • Fat Fit Go Premium Nut Butter
  • Fat Fuel Instant Keto Coffee
  • Epic Bars
  • RX Bars
  • Wild Zora Paleo Meals to Go
  • Chomps Snack Sticks

1. Wild Zora Meat & Veggie Bars

When on the go, I always find it challenging to maintain my veggie intake. That’s one reason Wild Zora Meat & Veggie Bars are one of my go-to healthy travel snacks. They’re made with organic veggies and high-quality meat, resulting in a nutritious, balanced snack that gives me energy and the peace of mind that I’m making the best choice for my body.

Additionally, these bars are lightweight and compact, making them perfect for a purse, carry on luggage, or a hiking backpack.

Wild Zora Meat & Veggie bars come in 7 delicious flavors including Apple Pork, Mediterranean Lamb, Curry Turkey, Chili Beef, Taco Pork, Parmesan Beef, and BBQ Beef with paleo, keto, AIP, and Whole30 options.

WHERE TO BUY: REI, Walmart, natural foods stores, and online at Thrive Market (use link to get 25% off your first order), WildZoraFoods.com (use code TRIPLEPEAK10 for 10% off), and Amazon.

2. Fat Fit Go Premium Nut Butter

Fat Fit Go is not your average nut butter. It’s a nutrient-dense combination of almond, macadamia, and cocoa butters, MCT oil, fruit-based erythritol, stevia, and sea salt. Not only is it delicious, but each packet packs a serious dose of energy and healthy fats! I’m always satisfied after eating one of these!

I packed 20 Fat Fit Gos on my trip to South America last summer and not only did they take up minimal space in my suitcase, but they were the perfect fuel while hiking the Inca Trail or out and about exploring a city.

Fat Fit Go Premium Nut Butter is available in two delicious flavors: Chocolate and Strawberry Lime (which sounds strange, but is pleasantly delicious!) and is both keto and paleo-friendly.

3. Fat Fuel Instant Keto Coffee

Do you love your butter coffee?! Me too. It’s delicious, it gives me steady energy, sharpens my focus, and makes me feel great! In fact, before discovering Fat Fuel, I used to lug a hand frother, coffee, a bottle of MCT oil, and coconut milk around when I traveled so I could have my morning fix wherever I was.

These days, my suitcase is a lot lighter because a packet of Fat Fuel’s Instant Keto Coffee makes the perfect cup of butter coffee! Just mix their powder with hot water or coffee, stir, and you’re good to go!

If coffee isn’t your thing, Fat Fuel also sells an Instant Keto Matcha and Instant Keto Cocoa and both are keto and paleo-friendly.

WHERE TO BUY: Amazon

4. Epic Bar

Epic Bars make a great on the go healthy snack because in addition to providing a high-quality source of protein, they’re also widely available, which can be a godsend with you’re in the middle of nowhere with limited healthy food options.

If you’ve never tried an Epic Bar before, they’re sort of like beef jerky in bar form. They’re made with grass-fed or natural meat and mixed with nuts and dried fruits for a slightly sweet, nutritious snack!

Epic bars come in 10 different flavors from Bison Bacon Cranberry, to Lamb Current Mint, and even Turkey Almond Cranberry. They’re paleo-friendly and also have Whole30 and AIP options.

WHERE TO BUY: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, most natural foods stores, most grocery stores, REI, Target, Vitamin Shoppe, CVS, and online at Thrive Market (use link to get 25% off your first order), EpicProvisions.com, and Amazon.

5. RX Bar

Like Epic Bars, RX Bars are also widely available making them a great choice when you aren’t able to plan ahead and order your favorite snacks online. Though they aren’t made with the organic ingredients, they’re a great balance of protein, carbohydrates, and healthy fat, which is key for long lasting energy.

RX Bars come in over 15 flavors, many of which are paleo and Whole30 (though in the spirit of Whole30, should be used for emergencies only). RX Bars also come in a kid-size for those of you who would prefer a smaller serving.

WHERE TO BUY: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, most natural foods stores, most grocery stores, Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, 7Eleven, and online at Thrive Market (use link to get 25% off your first order), RXBar.com, and Amazon.

6. Wild Zora Paleo Meals to Go

Though they’re more meal than snack, Wild Zora’s Paleo Meals to Go are an important hack when to keep your eating clean when you’re on the go.

They’re freeze-dried meals made with grass-fed or natural meats and organic veggies (no preservatives!) and all you have to do is add hot water! These meals are my go-to’s for road trips, air travel, backcountry backpacking trips, and even busy days when I’m out there running around. Check out this full review I wrote here.

Wild Zora’s Paleo Meals to Go come in 7 delicious flavors (4 entrees and 3 breakfasts), are paleo and Whole30-friendly, and two of the flavors are even AIP!

WHERE TO BUY: REI, Walmart, natural foods stores, and online at Thrive Market (use link to get 25% off your first order), WildZoraFoods.com (use code TRIPLEPEAK10 for 10% off), and Amazon.

7. Chomps Snack Stick

Chomps are a convenient, quality source of protein. I always keep one in my work bag so that when hunger strikes and mealtime is still far off, I have a quick pick-me-up to tide me over. They’re made with either grass-fed beef or free-range turkey and simple ingredients, making it a snack that you can feel good about and will keep you feeling good!

Chomps are available in 8 different flavors, all of which are paleo-friendly and Whole30, and one of which is AIP. They also make a half-sized stick called a “Chompling.”

WHERE TO BUY: Trader Joe’s, Walmart, and online at Thrive Market (use link to get 25% off your first order), Chomps.com, and Amazon.
